nostalgia | autumn in Vermont in our sweet little cabin

I have been around the world and no where is quite as beautiful as New England in the fall...

Going through the archives (aka cleaning out three external hard drives) and my heart swells with a big wave of nostalgia... a perfect weekday (read: wedding photographer weekend) getaway to rural Vermont in the fall.

Post unrelated to much else, but hey, since this is "my" blog, these make my heart so happy, and I want to feel that way again and again... so hence, this post, these photos.

Ying + Alan | the most beautiful love and wedding in the Berkshires, at Edith Wharton's home

Woah, I've got a lot of love for these two... there's something to be said about strangers who immediately feel like friends. My heart is so happy that I got the chance to see these two babes seal the deal.

Their wedding was at the. most. beautiful. place. that I can imagine. The rain held off just for them that day, and a gorgeous ceremony was had amongst autumn flowers and a beautiful mansion - the home of author Edith Wharton. This was my first drive out to western Massachusetts, and most definitely won't be my last... what a beautiful little slice of New England. I feel lucky to be so near to so much beauty. Or maybe it was just this day that made it feel so so beautiful (thanks for that, Y+A!) This was really something...

Congrats Ying + Alan! So much love.

Devon + Andrew | halloween wedding love

Happy December! After a month of traveling without any decent wifi... I'm psyched to finally share these pictures from one of my favorite weddings this year.

Let me tell you about my rad clients Devon and Andrew. The were married on Halloween a stone's throw from Salem - and it wasn't spooky at all. And she proposed to him. SHE PROPOSED TO HIM. And walked herself down the aisle. Her bouquet was made from dried flowers. And she wore blue shoes. Because who says just because it's tradition it applies to every one of us? This is what I'm talking about - I love weddings when they are true to the couple being wed. That's the way it should be, and no tradition should tell you otherwise. Props to Devon + Andrew for trailblazing, being courageous and mostly for being awesome (and throwing a kickass party!)
